A sync asks Notion what's there now and redraws the graph to match.

What a sync reads

For every page shared with the integration: its title, the properties needed to build links and run filters, which database it belongs to, and when it was last edited.

It doesn't read the body of your pages, and it never writes anything back.

Full sync and smart sync

For the first run it does a full sync for everything you've shared, from scratch.

After that Graphify does a smart sync: only pages edited since the last run. That's why the first sync can take a long time and the rest take seconds.

Change the structure of a database and Graphify re-reads that database's entries in full, since the change affects all of them.

Syncing is safe to repeat. Running it twice never duplicates nodes, and the graph can always be rebuilt from Notion.

Only one sync runs at a time, even with several windows open. A running sync can be cancelled.

Pro: Automatic sync driven by Notion webhooks is a Pro feature, and web only. On desktop, syncing happens on a schedule or when you ask for it.

Deleting in Notion

Delete a page in Notion and its node disappears at the next sync. That's intended.

When changes don't show up

Work down this list:

Is the page shared with the integration? In Notion: ••• → Connections. An unshared page is invisible to Graphify.
Is the link a real link? Typing a page's name as plain text creates nothing. Use @, /link to page, or a database relation.
Is the other page shared too? A link needs both ends synced before a line can be drawn.
Still nothing? Run a manual sync.
